Location: Atlanta Title: Data Specialist Program: Refugee Services
Summary:
The Data Specialist’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all Refugee Reception and Placement client data is entered into files and databases comprehensively, accurately and in conformance to established contract and Agency standards and specifications. The Data Specialist enters new client information into the IRIS database, monitors client schedules, reviews files, reviews database “back pages” that are subsequently entered by Case Managers, and examines client files to ensure that all back-up documentation is present. The Data Specialist helps provide the quality assurance necessary for the Refugee Reception & Placements Program to meet or exceed programmatic and financial audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in a relevant area of specialty. Minimum one year of recent relevant paid work experience entering and maintaining data in paperwork and on a computer. Superior computer skills including knowledge of Excel. (Create spreadsheets, sort, drop down menus, formulas, look-up tables, formulas etc.) Basic knowledge of Access or another database. Ability to understand the interrelated services of a complex refugee program. Must be accurate, detail oriented and organized. Must be able to prioritize tasks. Must have good time management skills .Must possess superior listening skills and be patient. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Must have the ability to work in partnership with other team members. Ability to Read, write and speak a relevant foreign language would be helpful. Or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
