Summary:
Volunteer Coordinator spearheads the development of cash, community in- kind donations and manage the volunteers of Matching Grant and Reception and Placement. The Volunteer coordinator works closely with the Agency Advancement to synchronize activities and goals. The Matching Grant program, funded by the US Office of Refugee Resettlement, is a rapid resettlement program designed to quickly facilitate the self sufficiency of newly arrived refugees through employment. The program funding is earned by matching federal dollars with donor’s contributions of cash or in-kind donations (including material items, volunteer time and services). The Reception and Placement program is funded by the U.S. State Department to provide the necessary short term assistance needed for newly arriving refugees.
Qualifications:
College degree in a relevant field such as business, human resources, etc would be helpful. Previous fundraising and volunteer management experience is required. Demonstrated, documented experience and performance in planning, organizing and leading projects. Organized with attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Excellent communication skills and resourcefulness. Sensitivity to cultural differences and respect to persons served. Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows XP). Database Experience would be helpful. Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change. Ability to work in partnership with other team members. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
